Tomorrow you will be taking your Spanish Final. As we have practiced, discussed, and practiced time and time again - your final exam will be based on a dialogue that you will create using the vocabulary, phrases, and ideas from your notes. 

Your dialogue will be about 20 - 30 sentences long between two or three people. Scenario: It's their first time meeting in a restaurant and they are ordering food from a waiter. I will provide you with a key to help you along. 
- Food
- Date
- Time
- Conversations
- Colors

As a reminder - you will be able to bring flash cards with vocab and phrases (Spanish/English) - NOT FULL SENTENCES. You should also bring a pencil and a dictionary as well.

Spanish: REMINDER! Your Presentation and Poster are due on Monday. All groups must submit one (1) copy of your slides with 2 or 3 slides printed on one (1) page. NO LATE SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED

How do I print multiple slides on one (1) page?
  1. Go to Google Slides
  2. Click on File
  3. Click on Print Settings and Preview
  4. Change 1 slide without notes to either - 
    1. Handout 2 slides per page or 
    2. Handout 3 slides per page
  5. Change Landscape to Portrait
  6. Click Print
  7. Close Preview

North American, Spain, & Spanish Speaking Islands Project

Due Date: Thursday, May 11, 2017

On Monday, April 24, 2017; I assigned groups in class in which each group is assigned a Country/Region that is to be researched both in class and for homework in order to create a collaborative group project which will be due on Thursday, May 11, 2017.

Country #1: Mexico

Country #2 Cuba

Country #3 Dominican Republic

Country #4 Haiti

Country #5 Puerto Rico

Country #6 Galapagos Islands

Country #7 Spain

*finalization of the groups to be in class on Monday, April 24, 2017

Topics that MUST be covered: (at least one (1) per group member)

History, Geography, Religion, Traditions & Culture

Additional topics that will be covered:

Art & Music, Food & Beverages, Sports, Celebrities & Famous Persons, Flora & Fauna, Natural Resources

Additional topics may be discussed with permission of your instructor

*Group members will choose who will work on what topic on Monday, April 24, 2017

Oral Presentation Information:

  • Students must create a Google Slide Presentation and Be Creative!

  • The Google Slide Presentation should include:

    • Title Page

    • Introduction Page (creative introduction overview of your country and topics to be discussed)

    • 4-6 slides per group member on the topics being discussed

    • Conclusion Page

    • Thank You Page & “Are There Any Further Questions”

  • 8 minute presentation which will highlight the main topics and information about the country(s)/Region(s) discussed.

  • Each person is to speak and present during the presentation.

  • Students must keep a digital folder on Google Drive titled Your Topic Research Project 2017 “Cuba Research Project 2017” and insert all valuable group information found and used: Articles, printouts websites, photos, notes, etc…


  • each group will create a Travel poster providing desirable aspects and key facts about the country you researched about.

  • Photos, Images, Cutouts, Drawings, Collage, Mosaics may be used to meet the creativity component of its grade.

  • Use an 18” x 12” poster (any color -- but I have white in my classroom)


Students WILL WORK TOGETHER on this project, but individually. Students will receive four (4) grades:

    • Research - Digital Folder Contribution

    • Individual Presentation

    • Group Presentation

    • Travel Poster

EVERYTHING IS DUE ON Thursday, May 11, 2017.

1) All nouns in Spanish are either masculine (m) or feminine (f). The gender of those denoting person or animals is determined by the sex.
